SHARC (Specific Hydrogen-bond Adsorption Resolution Chromatography) columns consist of particles that have hydrogen atoms on their surface. These hydrogen atoms can form hydrogen bonds with the analytes. Thus, the separation mode is mainly the hydrogen bonding. As the mobile phase, acetonitril is used as the weak solvent and methanol as the strong solvent. With the ratio of acetonitril to methanol, the retention time can be optimized.
