Supel Carbon

####MAGENTO-BREADCRUMBS####

The Supel™ Carbon from Supelco™ (Merck) are based on porous graphitic carbon (PGC). These particles have a unique retention mechanism, that can retain polar compounds using reversed-phase chromatography conditions. Moreover, the resolution of isomers is possible. Supel Carbon HPLC-Columns are compatible with any polar and non-polar solvent. Furthermore, this series can be used at pH values between 1 and 14 at temperatures up to 250 °C. They are stable at pressures up to 700 bar.

Supel™ Carbon is considered an alternative to Thermo Fisher Scientific's Hypercarb packaging material.

Advantages of Supel™ Carbon:

  • High lot-to-lot reproducibility
  • Temperature and pressure stable
  • high pH stability (1-14)
  • Unique mechanism
  • Retention of polar substances without HILIC conditions

Technical Data

When should Supel Carbon Chromatography columns be used?

  • For the analysis of highly polar analytes, which are not retained under RP Chromatography conditions
  • Fort he analysis of polar pesticides, underivatized amino acids, vitamin D metabolites, organic acids, nucleosides and carbonhydrates
  • Easier alternative against HILIC methods
  • Alternative against Thermo Fisher Hypercarb (higher lot-to-lot-reproducibility)
