Like the Armorshell columns, Prominert columns from ChromaNik have an elaborate endcapping by means of a tandem TMS (trimethylsilane) endcapping. This allows a high occupancy of the silanol groups to be achieved. The remaining silanols are converted into siloxanes by high-temperature treatment at over 200°C. Unlike Armorshell columns, Prominert columns are based on fully porous particles and have a pH stability of 1-12. In addition to C18 groups, biphenyl modifications are also available for Prominert columns.
