The new HALO® LPH-C18 column from Advanced Material Technology (AMT) is a sterically protected C18 phase based on a core-shell material for low pH values. This steric protection reduces the acidic hydrolysis, making the columns suitable for pH up to 1. The particles are available in 2 and 2.7 μm and in lengths up to 150 mm. Moreover, the 2.7 μm particles are also available in the new dimension of 1.5 mm ID.
Phase | Modification | Particle size / μm | Pore size / Å | Carbon content / %C | Surface area / m²/g | Endcapped | pH | USP Code |
HALO-LPH C18 | Diisobutyloctadecylsilane | 2 | 90 | 6.5 | 120 | - | 1a-8b | L1 |
(a) Tmax: 90 °C; (b) Tmax: 40 °C
A separation of parabens is performed on a HALO 90 Å LPH-C18 column under low pH (pH 1) and high temperature conditions compared to a standard C18 SPP column. Due to the sterically protected ligand, the LPH-C18 column can withstand these harsh conditions over a 55 hour test.
TEST CONDITIONS:
Column: HALO 90 Å LPH-C18, 2.7 µm 2.1x50 mm
Part Number: 92822-416
Mobile Phase A: Water, 1% TFA (pH: 1)
Mobile Phase B: Acetonitrile
Gradient: | Time | %B |
