Hydrophobic phases: extract non-polar compounds from polar solvents or matrices
Hydrophilic phases: extract compounds with polar groups such as amines, hydroxyls and carbonyls
Ion exchange phases: extract charged compounds, available for cations and anions
Copolymeric phases: consist of an ion exchange or polar groups and a hydrophobic chain for mixed mode extractions
