Maxi-Clean cartridges are an alternative format for SPE. The materials are the same as the Extract-Clean cartridges, but with a polypropylene housing with both a female luer inlet and a male luer outlet tip. This enables the use of positive pressure by syringe or negative pressure by vacuum manifold.
Maxi-Clean Aminopropyl (NH2): Ideal for carbohydrates or generally with analyses containing hydroxyl functional groups
Maxi-Clean Florisil (FL): Referenced in many EPA methods; ideally suited for pesticides and metals
Maxi-Clean Florisil-PR (FL-PR): Ensures most inert batches for highly active compounds
Maxi-Clean Alumina Acidic (AL-A): Increase capacity for acidic compounds
Maxi-Clean IC-OH: Exchanges anions for hydroxide; may be used to remove or concentrate anions from samples and to increase pH of acidic samples; removes cations that form insoluble hydroxide salts
Maxi-Clean IC-H: Exchanges cations for hydrogen; may be used to remove or concentrate cations from samples and to reduce pH of basic samples
Maxi-Clean IC-Ag: Removes excess halides through formation of Ag-halide salts
Maxi-Clean IC-Ba: Removes excess sulfate through formation of BaSO4
Maxi-Clean IC-Na: Exchanges cations for sodium, may be used to remove or retain cations from sample without changing the pH of the sample
Maxi-Clean Chelate: Exchanges transition metals and divalent cations for sodium; may be used to remove or retain divalent cations and transition metals from sample
Maxi-Clean IC-RP: Removes surfactants, organic acids and other organic substrates; inorganic ions pass through
