With the newest Kromasil SFC family Nouryon (AkzoNobel) is extending the offer of chromatography columns for Supercritical Fluid Chromatography. Based on the 2.5µm particle size technology the new Kromasil SFC columns are suitable for research, discovery and for routinge analysis. Following surface chemistries are available: silica (SIL), cyano (CN), diol (Diol) and 2-ethylpyridine (2EP).
The new Kromasil SFC columns are available witha particle size of 2.5µm allowing faster and more efficient analysis. By using a standard set of Kromasil SFC columns, the user can eddiciently screen the material that works best for a given sample. Users can easily achieve baseline resolution within 2.5 minutes of a generic linear gradient (see brochure below).
Supercritical fluid chromatography uses carbon dioxide (CO2) as mobile phase, which is held in a supercritical condition by pressure and temperature influence. SFC is known as the green technology of the chromatography world as only small amounts of organic solvents are used. The advantages of SFC are the profitability (purchase and disposal of solvents), the fast separations and the possibility to save resourses sustainably. SFC is mostly used in the pharmaceutical industry for the purification of active agents.
